Celebrating men’s health this Movember

There are certain months throughout the year that men pay particular attention to their facial hair. No Shave November and Mustache March are two that come to mind.

The entire month of November men will dedicate their upper lip for the greater good. They will raise money in the form of donations to fight types of cancer that specifically affect men. Movember is a men’s health awareness group that recognizes these cherished manly months by giving them a deeper purpose.

Upon creating my Movember account, I received a couple PDF documents that help explain the cause to others and legitimize it to contributors.

This isn’t the first time that I’ve grown out a mustache, but it’s the first time I’ve done it for a purpose.

Below are a few tips for manly grooming. They won’t prevent disease, but they will help you smell, look and feel better.

Pluck your eyebrows — A lot of guys don’t take care of their eyebrows. This doesn’t require any cosmetic tools – simply your thumb and index finger. Pinch your eyebrow and quickly pluck out the loose hairs. In about 30 seconds your eyebrows will be thinner and more shapely

Wash your face — Make sure your pores are cleaned out regularly. Even if you don’t have acne, oil and dirt will fill your pores during the day.

Floss — Good oral health ends with flossing and mouth wash rinse. Plaque gets between teeth that the brush will miss. P.S. don’t forget to scrub your tongue with the backside of your brush.

Wash your hair — Short or long, your hair needs to be cleaned on a daily basis. Remember to focus on scrubbing the scalp.

Cut your nails — Biting your nails is a bad habit. Trim your nails right when you get out of the shower for a cleaner cut.
