In exactly three months from today, I will be running the Go! St. Louis Marathon. The city of St. Louis is so beautiful, which makes me all the more excited to see it again — this time from an entirely different perspective.
City marathons in general tend to divert runners past their scenic landscapes, historic sites and attractions. This makes them a wonderful way to create a lasting memory of the city.
Attractions along the 2014 Go. St. Louis Marathon 26.2-mile course include:
• Downtown STL (Start Line)
• Anheuser-Busch Brewery (Mile 3)
• Busch Stadium (Mile 5)
• Gateway Arch (Mile 5-6)
• Holy Hill (Miles 6-8)
• Forest Park (Mile 11)
• Olympian Way (Mile 15)
• The Delmar Loop (Mile 20)
• Crown Candy (Finish Line)
See a video for each of the above significant mile markers here.
The photo below is one I took in March 2012 while on vacation in St. Louis. I have been to the city about a half dozen times in my life. However, my next visit, for the 2014 Go! St. Louis Marathon, will certainly be the most memorable.
