Almost three weeks have passed since I first felt a twinge in my right knee during a five mile training run on my gym’s track.
During this mandatory break, I have learned that patience is indeed a virtue, and it’s apparently one that does not come easily to me. I want to run. That’s really all I want to do. I’m tired of sitting around icing and elevating my leg. (Although I’m thankful for Minnie, who keeps me company.) The pool and elliptical workouts just aren’t cutting it anymore.
Not that I dwell much on my weight, but just saying, I have gained eight pounds since this nagging knee injury forced me to cut out most of my cardio.
The good news is that my knee is feeling somewhat rehabilitated. The optimist in me says I’ll be back to running by the weekend or early next week.
