Zero Drop

I recently received a pair of Altra Torin 1.5 Zero Drop shoes in a drawing from the newest running shop in town, 605 Running Company.

For the past 3+ months, I have been battling IT Band Syndrome in my right knee. Getting healthy has been a struggle both mentally and physically. I’m pleased to find that simply switching to a minimalist shoe has improved my form and reduced the pain in my knee.

Switching to Altra has been more of a test than anything. My whole life, I have been a diehard Asics guy. I have worn the Kayano as long as I can remember. I’m finding now that shoes with built up heels and constriction may have been making me lazy in my running form. Altra, on the other hand, is a great teaching tool. From the first run I took them on, I could feel improved efficiency in my form.

I have only gone on three runs with the Altra Torin 1.5s, but already I am loving them.
