Guaranteed entry

The Chicago Marathon yesterday sent out an email and posted on its website and social media channels information about the 2015 lottery system and guaranteed entry rules for its October 2015 event.

I knew Chicago switched to a lottery system recently so getting a bib wasn’t even a sure thing. But I was overjoyed when I found out that I have already locked up my entry by previously running a fast enough time. The time requirement for guaranteed entry for men is a verified time of 3:15 or faster as of Jan. 1, 2013 or later. My finish time at the 2014 GO! St. Louis Marathon was just good enough to put me within the minimum time range.

Now I just have to save up enough funds to cover the $185 entry fee come March. Woofta!
