A couple weeks have passed since I finished the Fargo Marathon. That has given me time to reflect, recover and develop a strategy for my next race.
The first couple days following the race, I thought a lot about my performance. I was initially very disappointed because my expectations were so high going into the race. My training went great and I was sure this could be the race I ran a sub 3-hour time.

This week was another big mileage week. I ran eight percent more miles—an increase of four miles—for a grand total of 52. Next week I plan to run 56 and peak at 60 miles the following week. Then the taper period will begin.

Week eight was another cold one. I don’t know exactly how many workouts for my Fargo Marathon training have been completed on the treadmill. I imagine it must be close to 75% percent of them. This is significantly more treadmill running than I thought I would be doing.
